Once Upon a Time, I had a blog. . . . . when my kids were still in preschool, kindergarten & elementary school. These are "diary entries" from then. I'm so happy that I documented along the way. These memories and thoughts are precious to me. They'll be mixed in with modern day musings as well. I hope it helps you know that all mothers are both perfect & imperfect in their own ways. . . . . and we're all just doing our best and trying to raise productive, happy humans.

"What Will Win?"

Dear Diary~~ February 18, 2011

Having kids means that sometimes in life you're going to have a conversation that makes absolutely no sense to you.  You will have no idea how to answer the questions and sometimes you just have to play along.

This morning, while my daughter and I were driving home from running errands, she asked "What will win?  A dinosaur or a boy?"  Okay.  Easy enough answer.  I've got this one!  The dinosaur.

"Okay, what will win?  A pinky toe or a juice box?".  Ummm. . . excuse me?  What kind of competition is it?  I DON'T UNDERSTAND.  Answer?  The juice box.  Because "he" can squirt juice out at the toe.  Alrighty then.

"What will win?"  A tomato or a cucumber?  I was of course thinking cucumber.  But, apparently that was not the correct answer.  The tomato would win because it can squirt juice at the cucumber.

Here are some more of the questions:

"What will win?  A Grizzly Bear or a teeny little crumb?'--Easy, peasy.
"What will win?  A tree or a bush?"--I said a tree because  a tree is bigger.
"What will win?  A crocodile or a bear?"
"What will win?  A dinosaur or a mailbox?"
"What will win?  The sky or the sun?"--I said the sun.
"What will win? Grass or God?"--God, always God.
"What will win?  A banana or a cucumber?"--Ummm???
"What will win? A train or a cucumber" --I'm pretty sure I know this one!

What are the answers, people?  And I can't be the only one who has to have conversations that make my head spin.  What kind of conversations do you have that leave you going, "huh?"

At any rate, life is never dull!  And I wouldn't trade it for anything!
